Charles Webb Obituary

Charles Edward “Charlie” Webb, 78, of Littleton, CO passed away on Wednesday December 29th, 2021.  Born in New York City on May 4th, 1943 into a Naval family, Charlie spent his early years in Manteo, NC and Imperial Beach, CA before settling in Pensacola, FL where he was an avid Boy Scout and Lifeguard.  He graduated from Escambia High School in 1961 before attending PJC (now Pensacola College) and completing his Bachelors and graduate degrees from Florida State University.

He married his childhood sweetheart and beloved wife of 53 years Phyllis Webb (nee Long) in 1968 and began his career in Tallahassee serving on the State Economic Development commission under three different Florida Governors.  He built a distinguished career in economic development in Cincinnati, OH, Des Moines, IA, Winston-Salem, NC, Cleveland, OH and Buffalo, NY. A leader in business attraction and development and an early pioneer in direct foreign investment programs at the local level, Charlie built programs throughout his career which created and retained thousands of local jobs, helped hundreds of businesses, and raised billions in capital.  After retiring from Chamber work he moved to Littleton, CO and continued his career working in executive recruitment helping communities and non-profit organizations across the country find new leadership.

A lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and avid Florida State Seminole fan, Charlie committed the majority of his free time and passion to his family.  A devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle, he was known for his quick wit and caring demeanor, always open to making time for an earnest conversation with friends and strangers alike.
