Charlotte Hedman Obituary

Forever in Our Hearts

Charlotte Hedman of Littleton, Colorado peacefully passed away surrounded by family on January 6, 2026, at the age of 85. She was born in Evanston, Illinois, to Carl and Sylvia Siebenbrodt.

Charlotte (Char) was the definition of kindness and resilience. Deeply sentimental and devoted to her family, she cherished the relationships in her life and the memories they created together. Her love for those around her was steady, genuine, and enduring.

She found great joy in the outdoors and in shared adventures. Some of her happiest moments were at the mountain cabin — snowmobiling, motorcycling, hiking, and enjoying evenings with family and friends around a campfire. She also loved traveling, whether on bus trips or cruises, seeing shows, and gathering with friends to play cards. Bridge, Bunco, and Mah Jong were among her favorite ways to stay connected and share laughter.

Charlotte attended high school in Evanston and later spent two years at Northern Illinois University. After marrying in 1963, her life took her to Champaign-Urbana, Illinois; Davenport, Iowa; Fort Collins, Colorado; and eventually Littleton, Colorado, where she made her home. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Columbia College, worked for 27 years as a regional secretary with Lorillard, and even helped start a preschool. Char was an active church member throughout her life, attending Centennial Lutheran Church and later Columbine United Church. She also gave generously of her time through volunteer support for the Littleton Elks Lodge and remained active in women’s groups for over 23 years.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ted Hedman, and her sister, Doreen Walczak. She is survived by her children, Dale Hedman (Michelle) and Terri Lynne Paris (Steve); her grandchildren, Kyle and Ian; along with several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Charlotte’s family invites you to a Celebration of Life on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., at Drinkwine Family Mortuary. The service is open to all who wish to honor and remember her. A reception will follow at Columbine Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlotte Hedman’s honor to Diabetes research organizations - diabetes.org, Freedom Service Dogs - freedomservicedogs.org, or a charity of your choice that reflects the kindness and generosity she shared so freely.

Char leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and connection — one that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
