Cindy Sabad Obituary

Cindy was the first born daughter to Alice & Richard Sabad. She was born in Niagara Falls, New York.

Her Father was in the United States Air Force, and they  were assigned to Elmendorf Air Force Base for 8 years,  when she was a toddler. She learned to ski at Mt Alyeska, and enjoyed weekend camping and fishing  trips with family and close friends.

She graduated from Arapahoe High School and went on to obtain her Associate’s Degree in Art at Arapahoe Community College.

Her travels included a trip to Paris France to visit her former roommate, a trip that she still recalled fondly many years later.  Toronto, Ontario to visit an old friend.  Many trips to Tucson, Scottsdale and San Diego.

She loved her time spent at the Denver Post and Arapahoe Judicial Services, where she made many lifelong friends.

Cindy loved cats and over her lifetime, rescued many from the Denver Dumb Friends League.

Her hobbies were cooking and  baking {the best ever sugar cookies}, fishing and knitting. She made wash cloths every year for the Denver Rescue Mission Holiday collection. Cindy was involved in her church, teaching with the Children Ministries. Cindy received The Presidents Volunteer Service Award, for her many volunteer projects.

She retired recently, enjoying everyday as a “Retiree “

She is survived by her Mother, Alice and her Sister Tammy and roommate, Sherry Archer.  Loving family in New Jersey, Florida, Connecticut, Maryland  and Pennsylvania. She was known as “Aunt Cindy” to Genevieve Laca, Elise Flores and John Flores Jr. And her closest friend and confidant Rebecca Laca who had a connection with her from the minute they met.  As well as many, many dear friends in Denver and across the country.

She loved her family & friends dearly.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Denver Dumb Friends League - www.ddfl.org or The Denver Rescue Mission - www.denverrescuemission.org in Cindy’s name and memory.
