Constantine (Costy) Ibrahim Haddad (1928-2021) was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon beside his three cherished brothers (William, Halim, and George) and his much-loved Mother—Mariam Haddad. Costy worked briefly with Aramco Airlines (now Aramco Energy) in Beirut, and this inspired an interest in aeronautics as a career. Immigrating to the United States, Costy enrolled in Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology at Saint Louis University—where he discovered his color-blindness prevented him from becoming a US pilot. Costy transferred to the University of Denver and graduated with a degree in Business after which he launched his own company as a manufacturer’s representative in the semi-conductor industry.
An astute business leader, Costy was involved in the formation of new companies, overseeing those he sold and many real estate ventures.
Costy is the most beloved spouse of Pamela Moore Haddad, the proud father of Julie and spouse—Dan Burge, and Mimi Haddad and spouse—Dale Halladay, the loved grandfather of Daniel Burge and spouse—Erin Burge and Gabrielle Dowdy and spouse—Jeremy Dowdy, and the much-treasured great grandfather to Xander and Xavier Dowdy and Luke Burge. All gathered around him bringing joy to his last days.
A life-long lover of tennis, Costy was involved in weekly tennis matches and headed various tennis teams throughout the greater Denver Area.
After retiring in his eighties, he was a frequent senior at local eateries whose clientele loved his sense of humor and vivid storytelling of past events. Costy loved to travel for pleasure in retirement. As he approached his nineties, you could find him touring the world with his family enjoying historic sites in Britain, Europe, and the Middle East.
His wife, daughters and family will greatly miss Costy’s sense of humor, wisdom, creativity, and strategic capacity to solve problems of any sort. Most of all, we’ll miss holding his hand, and telling him how much we love him and how proud we are of his life and commitment to family, country, and his career. We recognize that through the victories of Calvary, our separation is only temporary.
His funeral will be held at Saint Rafka Maronite Catholic Church, 2301 Wadsworth Blvd Lakewood, CO 80214 (720-833-0354) on December 4th at 10:30 a.m. The service will be followed by a reception-meal.
