Damon Ostrander Obituary

Damon D. Ostrander

Damon Ostrander, beloved husband, father, stepfather, brother, uncle, friend and valued co-worker, died peacefully on December 5, 2022 after suffering declining health for several years. Damon, a devoted believer, had placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior and it is with joy that we know he is in heaven with the Lord now and forever. Damon and his wife, Arleen, were longtime members of Mission Hills Church in Littleton.

Damon Ostrander was born to Edwin and Ruby Ostrander on February 11, 1945 in Seattle, Washington but spent most of his growing up years in California. He loved to play golf and won a Hole-in-One championship in San Francisco at age 19. He graduated in 1969 from the University of California Berkeley with a degree in electrical engineering and began a career with Lockheed Martin that brought him to Colorado. He was employed as an aeronautical engineer with Lockheed Martin for 37 years.

Damon was a talented photographer whose photos were displayed in gallery showings in Littleton several times. He was a superb pianist who could "play by ear" most any tune. His musical talent delighted patrons at the North Woods Inn for many years and he was a popular entertainer at parties and nursing homes. He volunteered at the non-profit Piano Pathways -Pianos and Pianos in Littleton matching pianists with the right piano and doing demonstrations for clients.

Damon was known for his kindness, calm demeanor, generosity of spirit and love for his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Arleen Ostrander, daughters Rachel Stokowski (David), Joanna Ostrander and son, Nathan Ostrander, sisters Nicole Jakaby and Jennifer Bolounge, stepchildren Lisa Farrell, Jason Auen, Sarah Hoerdamann and seven precious grandchildren.

A Celebration of life service will be held at 1a later date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Damon's name can be made to Piano Pathways www.pianopathways.org
