Daniel James Horigan was born on 2/11/53 and passed away on 2/3/26 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Denver. He always had a great sense of humor and was very clever. He could figure out solutions to problems when no one else could. He grew up in Littleton, Colorado and just recently was moved to an assisted care facility.
Dan and his two sisters and parents (Jim 'and Joan Horigan) moved from Littleton to London, England in 1969. He attended the American School in London and loved going on the many ski trips that the school offered. He also traveled extensively while in London - to Russia, Amsterdam, Paris, Austria, Switzerland and Germany. Dan was very interested in archaeology and worked on a number of digs, including in France and Israel. Most recently in 2024, Dan Jent on a reunion trip with the American School in London and met up with his two best friends.
Dan received his undergraduate degree and his MBA from the University of Denver. He worked in Denver as a Financial Analyst for a number of companies, one being CH2MHill. Dan was very smart and rated in the upper 5% for math and English on his SATs.
Dan enjoyed having a small gardening and landscaping business in the '80's and '90's. He also loved to dance and took West Coast Swing lessons for a number of years. One of the highlights of his life was a trip he took to Cuba with his dance group. He was also a great gourmet cook. Always curious, he was an avid reader of Science, Archeology and Astronomy.
In his later years, Dan took care of his mother Joan who suffered from dementia. In this capacity, he hired caregiver, Jean Diehl who helped him with his mother's care and who later helped him tremendously with his own care. We are most grateful for the help that Jean provided.
Dan is survived by his two sisters - Susan Mary of Denver and Nancy Jean of Laramie, Wyoming and his two nephews - Jon and Sean Datz of Laramie, Wy. We will miss him greatly.
