David Lynn Francis of Centennial, CO, died on August 15, 2024, from complications of a stroke and heart attack. Dave was born in Pueblo, CO, on September 15, 1947, to Charles L. and Josephine M. (Willour) Francis. He graduated from Central High School in 1965 where he was a Gold Cord Senior and lettered in tennis. He attended Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO, where he played on the tennis team and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Physics. He later received a Master of Science degree from Mines in Mathematics. His passion for tennis continued until shortly before his death. He was employed in mineral exploration, mapping, computer programming and information technology during his career. He was a voracious collector of books. He is survived by his wife Sue Miller Francis of 50 years. He is also survived by this two brothers Lee Francis (Betty) of Joppa, MD, and Ed Francis of Pueblo, CO, plus numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, sister-in-law Treesa Francis and nephew Scott Francis. Dave was cremated. Per his wishes, there will be no service.
