David Mulvay Turner

March 25, 1949 ~ October 6, 2020 (age 71)

David M. Turner, 71, passed away on October 6th following a long battle with MS.  He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Kaye Cameron Turner.
David was a graduate of South High School with bachelor's and master's degrees in music from the University of Colorado.  His career as a music teacher, band director and coach in the Denver Public Schools inspired and enabled innumerable students through his thoughtful guidance and high expectations. He regularly performed on trumpet throughout the Denver area with musical artists like Mel Torme and Sammy Davis, Jr., in recording studios, clubs, and many other jazz and professional venues.
Dave was an accomplished woodworker, an automobile enthusiast, golfer, and avid Broncos and Avalanche fan.  After playing football at SHS, he was part of the CU Buffaloes teams during two Liberty Bowl appearances. He doted on his pets, especially cats Trixie and Molly.

A small, private family service is planned.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the following organizations in David's name and memory:
