Dino DeNicola Obituary

Dino DeNicola passed away peacefully the morning of Friday, September 18, 2020, with the love of his family surrounding him.  Dino will be forever remembered by his wife Mitzi and their sons Anthony, Nick and daughter-in law- Jordan; by his mother Maria, his brothers Lou (Erma), Angelo (Maria) and sister Louisa.  Dino will also be fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law JoAnn (Joe), Kelli (Tom) and Jenny; nieces Stephanie (Mike), Marisa, Destiny; nephews Patrick, Danny and Gianni, and extended family and dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his father Pasquale and stepfather Tony.

Dino was born March 28, 1963, in Manhattan, New York to Maria and Pasquale.  The family moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1975.  Dino attended North High School in Phoenix and this would turn out to be one of the best things he ever did.  During his sophomore year, a sweet blonde 9th grader caught his eye and that started a fairytale love story.  On September 3, 1988, Dino married that blonde and he and Mitzi shared 32 beautiful years of marriage and built a life filled with love and devotion.

Dino attended Arizona State University and graduated with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1985.  He earned a master’s degree in System Management from the University of Denver.  Dino started his career with Rockwell Space Transportation Systems Operations Company (STSOC) in Houston, TX where he had the opportunity to work on the Space Shuttle program. He then moved to Denver, Colorado where he worked for Lockheed Martin for 30 years.  During his time at Lockheed, Dino worked on numerous missions including flight mechanics for Titan IV and the top-secret area of Defense Systems.  Dino started in the property management business in the mid-90s and spent time as a manager for several commercial properties.  This launched the beginning of an endeavor into vacation rentals that led him to the mountains of Colorado and the Gulf coast of Florida.  Although a business opportunity, the vacation rentals opened the doors to great adventures with his family and friends.

Dino was a proud and dedicated father.  He coached both boys in youth sports, attended numerous sporting events to cheer them on and became a second dad to all their friends.  Dino passed on many things to his boys including his wonderful sense of humor, his patriotic devotion and his ability to work hard while being fully involved with his family.

The legacy of Dino’s fun-loving spirit, passion for sports, love of wine and coffee, and zest for life will live on through the numerous family and friends that have been lucky enough to know him.  When you think of Dino, celebrate the good memories you have of him and remember that life should be lived to the fullest.
