Dominic Allen Nelson

We celebrate the beautiful life of Dominic Allen Nelson, born September 27, 2002, who passed away on October 7, 2025, in Hugo, Colorado. Though Dominic’s journey was brief, it was filled with adventure, laughter, and love that will echo forever.

Dominic lived life on his own terms — always ready for a ride, a laugh, or a trip into nature. He loved motorcycle rides, camping trips, family gatherings, and the loyal companionship of his best buddy, Bodhi.

He is survived by his loving family — parents Josh and Bijen Nelson, siblings Jesse, Shelby, and Matthew Nelson, grandparents Joy Barrett, Linda Monte, and Tony Monte, aunts and uncles Tiffany and Craig Pope, Dee Anna and Ray Cosby, Tony and Rachel Monte, and many cousins who brought joy to his life. He joins his grandfather Steve Nelson in eternal peace.

Dominic’s courage through his battle with Type 1 Diabetes was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. Today, we remember his smile, his humor, and his adventurous spirit — and we find peace knowing that he is now free from pain, riding with the wind.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the coming months to honor Dominic’s journey. Details will be shared with family and friends as soon as possible. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, in honor of Dominic’s memory.
