Donald Edward Collier, age 91, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado passed away on the morning of September 10, 2025, peacefully in his sleep.
Don was born in Wink Texas on September 4, 1934 to Jack and Evelyn (Vaughn) Collier. He spent the first 8 years of his life in Texas and then moved to Monterey, California where he went to Catholic school through High School. Don moved to a Catholic monastery as a Franciscan Monk serving the Catholic missions through California. Don continued his education at the University of Gonzaga in Washington State. Don then moved to Chicago to pursue a career in sales. He eventually moved back to Monterey, California.
Don loved to paint water colors and do pen and ink drawings. He had a passion for the Japanese culture and created many bonsai's that he trained to be beautiful miniature trees.
Don enjoyed exploring and sight seeing all over California. Don loved academia, he was intellectual, artistic and thoughtful.
Don married Ruth Weidemann on September 7, 1974. They moved to Walnut, California with Ruth's two children, Troy and Noelle. Don and Ruth continued to live in Walnut for 47 years and then moved to Highlands Ranch, Colorado in November 2021.
Don is survived by his wife Ruth Collier; children Troy Weidemann and Noelle Weidemann; 6 grandchildren, Hannah, Austin, Jake, Emma, Sam and Chloe; 4 great grandchildren, Judson, Kaden, Tanner and Lane. His preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Evelyn Collier.
Viewing and Visitation will be held at 10AM and Funeral Service at 11:30AM on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Drinkwine Family Mortuary, 999 West Littleton Boulevard, Littleton CO 80120.
