Donald Arthur Stange

Don was born in Aberdeen, SD. on March 27th 1936. He grew up on a family farm with six siblings. Four sisters and two brothers. He helped with the farm until he joined The US Army in 1956 at 20 yrs old. Don was stationed at Ft. Carson Army Base in Colorado Springs, CO. He was a vehicle mechanic during his term of service. He was Honorably Discharged in 1958.

While in the service, Don met Dorothy. After some dating time, Don and Dorothy were married in Cheyenne, WY. on March 18th, 1960. Don and Dorothy were married 59 years until Dorothy passed in 2019. Don and Dorothy had 5 children and many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Don was widowed until he lost his battle with Covid 19 on November 18th,2020. Don was 84 yrs old. 

Don has a lot of family and friends. His friends consist of many lifelong friends from all his past hobbies, to his neighbors that he waves to as he sat on his porch. Nobody was ever left out.

He had many hobbies. Stock car racing, dog racing, bowling, fishing, gardening, Denver Bronco games and country dancing. He always enjoyed staying busy doing something. He was not one to just sit around. He loved life and the people he met along the way. As he started getting older he really began  to appreciate spending time with family and friends talking about old times.

Don is preceded in death by his Wife, Mother, Father, five siblings and two children. Don is survived by 1 sister (Randy) that is 94 yrs old, 3 children and many grandchildren.                                     

He will be missed by anyone that called him Dad, Grandpa or Friend!

Memorial Services will be held on Friday July 23, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Drinkwine Family Chapel with a graveside service with full military honors to follow at 2:00 PM at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.

Reception and gathering will follow graveside at 3:30 PM at Waterton Tavern - 8361 North Rampart Range Road Littleton, CO 80125.
