Dorothy Jeanne Cook

Dorothy (Dottie) Cook née Neibert passed peacefully and surrounded by loving family on Monday, April 14, 2025, at the age of 96.

Dorothy was born on December 10, 1928, in Rochester, NY, to parents Margaret Mickolin Neibert and Frank Neibert.  She Had 4 siblings, Grace, Geraldine, Nancy, and James (all deceased).  While working as a telephone operator in Rochester, she met and married her loving and devoted husband, Edward Cook (deceased 2007), a World War 2 veteran.  After marrying in 1949, the couple relocated to Littleton, CO, where they raised 2 daughters, Cheryl (deceased 2021), and Cynthia.  Dorothy worked for Littleton Public Schools Nutrition Services for 17 years, retiring from her position as Centennial Elementary School lunch program manager in 1988.  Following retirement, she volunteered For many years at the Porter Hospital gift shop in Littleton.  

Dorothy was a humble and dedicated provider, who worked tirelessly for her family, for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as for the hundreds of Centennial Elementary students she helped feed every day.  She is survived by her daughter Cynthia (David) Main of Highlands Ranch, CO, granddaughter Emily (Kris) Fry of Littleton, CO, grandson Gareth (Sarah) Bevan of Reading, MA, great-grandchildren Olivia Fry, Sam Fry, Owen Bevan, Rhys Bevan, and William Bevan, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 10 at 10:30 a.m. at Drinkwine Family Mortuary in Littleton, Colorado. A celebration of Dorothy's life will follow at the family's home in Highlands Ranch.
