“Dottie” Dorothy (Orr) Penske, November 4, 1920 - April 9, 2025.
Born in Toledo Ohio, the only child of Myrtle Cousins and Henry Orr. In 1941 she married her high school sweetheart, Clifford Penske, also from Toledo. graduated from DeVilbiss High School and studied at Toledo University. An active member of Glenwood Lutheran church, Heather Downs CC and lifetime member of St Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary.
Dorothy always loved golf, having learned from her father as a child. She and Cliff spent retirement winters in Atlantis Florida playing golf. At age 89, she had her first hole in one on the course overlooked by her 5th floor retirement apt. She enjoyed her last 8 yrs at The Gardens at Columbine, where she made many friends among the residents and a loving staff . She was seldom found in her room but often at a bridge table or walking in the gardens, even involved in putting contests.
Dorothy died peacefully of natural causes at age 104. She was preceded in death by husband Clifford Penske in 2002 and survived by her daughter, Kathleen Dillon (Brian), of Littleton CO, her son Kenneth Penske (Engeline) of Houston TX, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Dorothy on April 27 at 1:00 at The Gardens at Columbine, 5130 W Ken Caryl Ave Littleton. Interment will be at Ft Logan National Cemetery with her husband July 25.
Memorial donations for Dorothy may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Littleton & Crosby Botanical Gardens in Toledo.
