Doug "Bo" Hall, Jr. Obituary

Douglas “Bo” Hall, Jr. passed away suddenly in Pensacola, Florida on April 15th, 2023.  Born October 9, 1968, in Houma, Louisiana Bo primarily grew up in Colorado and considered it home. He spent his early years in Littleton and graduated from Columbine High School in 1986, enjoying his time playing football, baseball, soccer and wrestling.  As wrestling was his first love, he had the opportunity to join the wrestling team at Oklahoma State University during his freshmen year of college before transferring to University of Missouri at Columbia.

Bo gave his life to Christ at the age of 8 and found a church home at Applewood Baptist Church in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.  He formed many lasting relationships during his time there and never wavered in his love for God and commitment to Christ.  While being on mission in El Salvador, Bo met the true love of his life, Rosa Maria “Toya” Escobar.  They were married in 1998, blessing Bo with the happiest and most fulfilling days of his life.  Sadly, Bo’s beautiful wife passed away very early in their marriage, leaving a huge void in Bo’s heart as well as the hearts of his family.

Bo had many passions and interests over the years.  First and foremost, he loved his family and held a special place for his nieces and nephew. He was undoubtedly the fun-loving uncle that they and his entire family all loved having around. In addition, Bo enjoyed all sports but was especially fond of football and Nascar racing.  There was not an unknown player, driver, or statistic to him. Bo had the opportunity to attend many races along side his father, creating memories they both treasured dearly.

One of Bo’s many dreams was to live in Florida as he loved the sand, surf, and the warmth of the sun. He proudly accomplished this goal a few years ago, settling in Pensacola. Bo always sported a beautiful tan, a warm smile, and a twinkle in his eye! He built a wonderful community of friends and impacted numerous lives over the last few years. It has been heartwarming for his family to hear the heartfelt stories of those closest to him during this time.

Throughout his life, Bo maintained the curiosity and inquisitiveness of a child and constantly sought to learn more about everything he found of interest. Rarely did anyone see Bo without a big smile and mischievous laughter. He lit up every room he entered and brought his passion, humor, and natural spark to each and every conversation.  Like his father, Bo never met a stranger and worked to ensure his smile was contagious, putting a smile on the faces of all those he met. He never missed an opportunity to use his charismatic personality to spread God’s love.  Even during his own struggles and difficult times, Bo always worked hard to help those around him by leveraging his energetic and kind personality. Through prayer, encouragement, and humor Bo used the incredible gifts God gave him to see others through challenging times and ensure them there were better days to come.  He was a true gift to this world, and will be dearly missed and forever loved and cherished.

Bo is survived by his mother Jerri L. Hall of Highlands Ranch, sister Kim Hall-Grunewald (Pete Grunewald) of Bossier City Louisiana, brother Kyle Hall (Veronika Hunter Hall) of Highlands Ranch, nephew and nieces; Abbigail Grunewald of Bossier City, Louisiana, Madeline Grunewald of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Ty Hall, Lia Hall, and Blake Hall, of Highlands Ranch. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever hold him in their hearts. Bo was preceded in death by his wife Rosa Maria “Toya” Escobar  Hall, father Douglas Hall, and niece Ari Hall.

Services will be held at noon on May 1st, 2023 at Drinkwine Family Mortuary, 999 West Littleton Blvd in Littleton, Colorado.  Immediately following the service, there will be a brief graveside gathering at Littleton Cemetery.  After, everyone is welcome to join the family for a reception at the home of Kyle and Veronika Hall.
