Gary Arnold Obituary

On Wednesday, September 22, 2021, Gary Edwin Arnold, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 74.

Gary was born November 10, 1946 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Vivian and Glen Arnold.  He served honorably and proudly in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.  Upon his honorable discharge from the United States Navy in 1970, Gary earned a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Speech with a minor in Psychology from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 1976.  Upon completion, Gary enjoyed a successful career in hospitality sales and marketing in San Diego, CA and Denver, CO, while concluding his career as a substitute teacher in 2007.

Gary had a passion and appreciation for good food, he enjoyed spending time in the kitchen preparing new recipes for good friends and family in anticipation of a laughter filled backyard barbecue.  In addition, Gary enjoyed spending time outside in the backyard tending to his garden, and later caring for the several plants he held so dear.  Gary was also an avid music lover, and could be seen in his earlier years cleaning his beloved Harley Davidson motorcycle while listening to classic rock and roll icons such as The Beatles, AC/DC, Van Morrison and more.  He was known for his gregarious personality, always looking for and willing to share a laugh, and his unwavering support of the Denver Broncos.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Glen, stepmother Bebe, mother Vivian, and brother Brock.  He is survived by his daughter Sara (Tim), granddaughter Carter, and brother Bruce.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the home of Sara and Tim Olson in Littleton, CO from 12:00 – 4:00 PM (please contact for details).

A military funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Fort Logan National Cemetery 4400 W. Kenyon Ave. Denver, CO 80236 at 1:00 PM.

At the Gary Sinise Foundation, we serve our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need.

We do this by creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen, and build communities.

“Freedom and security are precious gifts that we, as Americans, should never take for granted. We must do all we can to extend our hand in times of need to those who willingly sacrifice each day to provide that freedom and security. While we can never do enough to show gratitude to our nation's defenders, we can always do a little more.”  - Gary Sinise
