Geetha Mani Obituary

Geetha Mani passed away at age 74, on Sunday June 30, 2024 at UC Health Highlands Ranch Hospital in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, following a many weeks-long struggle with an acute illness.  She was with her family during these last weeks.

Geetha was born in India on November 4, 1949. She emigrated to the USA in 1961 with her father, mother and younger sister.  It is not important to list all of her educational achievements, the many languages that she was fluent in, or the places in the world that she has traveled to.  However, what needs to be said is that Geetha was always a very loving and caring person. In her last weeks, she was more concerned about her family’s comfort and well-being than her own. This total selflessness was even evident until the last minutes of her life – she waited until family members went home to eat and rest before she left this world to be with her dear departed son, Arjun.

A daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother and a dear friend. Whatever her role was she gave a hundred percent. She had to face many challenges during her life, but somehow she had the strength to move forward.  This was one of her most admirable traits.  She leaves a big hole in our hearts. A beautiful soul was taken away from us too prematurely.

She was preceded in death by her son, Arjun Mani, in 2006; her mother (Kamala Jayaraman), and her father (Aiyasami Jayaraman). She is survived by her husband, Ganpat Mani, her daughter Seetha Mani (Garrett), sister Chitra Narayanan (Vinodh), nephews Vasant Narayanan (Joanna, Vikram, Lilly) and Mohan Narayanan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to: AID India (Association for India’s Development) – aidindia.org/donate/

Private services and Last Rites were performed on July 3, 2024 at Drinkwine Family Mortuary, 999 W Littleton Rd, Littleton, CO, 80210
