Gloria Anne Gander, née Franklin, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on September 10, 1947, in Beverly, Massachusetts, Gloria lived in Littleton, Colorado and is survived by her former spouse, Craig Gander and their four devoted children: Mindi Sanders, Chris Gander, Emily Wadhwani, and Wade Gander. She was the cherished grandmother of six grandchildren: Isaiah, Noah, Jonas, and Addison Gander, Gavin Sanders, and Mirabai Wadhwani.
Gloria spent her childhood in Beverly, MA, frequently visiting nearby Bakers Island. As an adult, Gloria made Colorado her permanent home; however, Bakers Island remained her true home and the destination of many summer trips where she took her own children.
Gloria was a woman of many passions, including her beloved pets, gardening, needlework, reading, and her love of fishing and the ocean. One of Gloria’s greatest joys was supporting her children and grandchildren as they competed in soccer, swimming, gymnastics, and cycling. In addition to caring for her own family, Gloria extended her love and care to others by working as a private nanny for many families whose children she had a profound impact on.
Gloria’s life was a testament to her generous spirit, infectious humor, and deep love for her family. Her compassionate and trusting nature and unwavering kindness left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Gloria's laughter and love will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Gloria’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to The Gardens at Columbine Assisted Living and Brighton Hospice. Their staff brightened the final stages of Gloria’s life, and she loved seeing each of them as they cared for her. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Ernest W. Franklin and Kathleen L. Franklin and her brother, Ernest W. Franklin, Junior.
A remembrance gathering to celebrate her life was held on March 11, 2025. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity in Gloria's memory.
