Helen Marie Wallace was born ln Denver on May 8, 1918 to William and Helen Briscoe. She spent her life in the Denver Metro area attending North High and the University of Denver. It was at DU where she met, and later married, Bill Wallace who preceded her in death.
Helen Marie began her singing career as a teenager and, over the next two decades, sang with a variety of bands throughout the Denver area including the Brown Palace Hotel and the old Cosmopolitan Hotel. During the height of the Big Band era she had a radio show on KOA, Helen Marie and Her Gentlemen of Jive. She was a true salesperson for skin products and vitamins that she passionately believed would make a better life. One of the highlights of her life was her 100th birthday that was celebrated at the Brown Palace Hotel with more than 90 of her closest friends and family. A truly marvelous event!
Helen Marie loved the Lord as the center of her life and spent decades attending and teaching bible classes. She found love and friendship in her church that provided enormous support for her in her later years. She will be deeply missed.
