Hugh W. Hilleary 1929-2024 passed away in his home on December 13, 2024.
Hugh was born in Missoula, Montana December 27, 1929 to Richard P. Hilleary and Iphi Mills Hilleary (both Deceased). Hugh grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he graduated from Albuquerque High School and the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a commission in the U.S. Navy.
After three years active duty in the U.S. Navy, he returned to Albuquerque for two years and was hired as a technical writer for a nuclear weapons manufacturer.
Hugh then moved to Colorado where he established his own business as a Manufacturers Sales Representative, and Value Added Reseller of technological instrumentation, counting and controlling devices and temperature monitoring equipment. He not only sold the equipment, he was able to assist the company engineers in how to incorporate his equipment into their machinery schematics and production. He could also design, install, troubleshoot, repair, and write instruction for all these complex electronic systems. He retired in 2005.
Hugh dated Beverly Belle Rubick for two years and then married on August 20, 1960: They lived, loved and danced in Littleton, Colorado in one home from 1963 to 2024.
He is survived by their three children Mark W. Hilleary in Baltimore MD/Littleton CO, Valinda Roche (husband Mark) in Huntington Beach CA and Denise Chinburg (husband Joe) in Arvada CO; grandchildren Blaze Roche, Tanner Roche, and Mitchell Chinburg (wife Olivia); nephews Paul Hilleary (daughters Angela and Kristen), and Bryan Hilleary (sons Joshua and Jeremiah), and niece Christy Rubick-Thomas (husband Gilbert).
His wife Beverly Hilleary preceded him in Death November 11, 2018.
His children remember his avid support and participation with them in his Littleton YMCA activities and Y-Indian Guides, Y-Indian Princess, and his coaching/refereeing in the Littleton Soccer Association. He was a Member of the Littleton YMCA, Littleton Elks Club, Sigma Chi Fraternity, and sang in the choir as a member of the Littleton United Methodist Church.
Celebration of life service will be held January 16, 2025 11:00am at the Littleton United Methodist Church 5894 S Datura St.
Interment in Fort Logan National Cemetery will be held on Friday, January 17th at 1:30 PM, Staging area B, with military honors. Please arrive no later than 1:15PM at Staging Area B.
