Jack Hight Obituary

Jack Hight was born on October 1, 1942 to Loy and Eileen (Kennedy) Hight in Wichita, Kansas.  He joined his parents in Heaven on February 12, 2020.  Jack was raised in Kansas and Nebraska with his sister Linda Sue. During high school, Jack earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated high school from Kearney High School in 1961.  Jack then attended Kearney State College in Kearney, Nebraska.  It was there that he met his future wife, Karin Sue Watters.
Jack volunteered to join the Army in 1964.  He completed his basic training at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri.  After basic training, he was stationed in Vietnam in 1965 as a Medical Specialist in the 1st Infantry Division (Big Red One).
Upon his discharge in 1966, Jack returned home to marry his college sweetheart, Karin. They welcomed Shawn Lee in 1969, and Holly Nicole in 1974.  Jack worked at Happy Canyon Hardware with Karin's brother and sister-in-law, Bradley and Prudence Watters until 1984. He then worked as a Sales Manager for Zodiac Rentals and HomeBase until he retired in 2001.
He truly enjoyed his life.  Jack enjoyed spending time with his family, working on home projects, photography and making models.  He was a good friend and neighbor.
Jack is survived by his wife, Karin; children Shawn (Jennifer) and Holly (Eric); grandchildren Allie, Kaylee and Taylor; and sister Linda. He is preceded in death by his father, Loy in 2008, and his mother, Eileen in 2020.
