Jacqueline Zelie Reardon (nee van Hemert) of Littleton, Colorado passed away peacefully on June 8, 2018. Jackie was born in Baldwin, New York to Peter and Denise van Hemert. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Bates University in Lewiston, Maine. She began her career at Brown University and continued at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in her chosen field. While living in Denver she met and married James Reardon, her husband of 62 years, and together they raised three children. Jackie was a stay at home mom and later worked at Columbine High School as a Teacher's Assistant for 25 years. Jackie enjoyed motherhood, cooking, swimming, attending educational workshops and animals. Until the end, she maintained a passionate devotion to rescuing and caring for stray cats. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Linda, Sandy (Carlson) and Tom, her husband Jim and her sisters, Denise van Hemert and Janet Thomson. Jackie was also a beloved grandmother to Steven and Courtney.
