Survivors are husband, Walter J. Schmuki; three children, Raphaella (Kevin Pikington), John Schmuki (Ruth) and Ginette Schmuki McCleerey; grandchildren, Kaelin, Taryn, Kiernan and Giselle; and great grandchildren, Bode, Adalyn Schilling.
Jacqueline passed Thursday, August 7, 2025 in Centennial, CO. She lived in her home for 52 years in Centennial CO. She passed away from a long-term illness with complications. Jacqueline was born on a small island in the Caribbean on January 28, 1936. Due to turmoil on the island, she and her mother, Carmen, left immediately and made a home in Montreal, Canada. There she grew up and received her nursing degree from The University of La Valle with high honors. Jacqueline's personality beamed making other people happy. She and Walter were very successful restauranteurs. They owned Chez Walter Restaurant for 25 years, which was their pride and joy. Walter was the main chef and Jacqueline was the hostess, bartender and cashier. Her main goal was making customer and patron welcomed with her lovely smile. Jacqueline and Walter were featured on the cover of 5280 Magazine. They were featured in the Rocky Mountain News and The Denver Post with favorable comments and reviews. They both enjoyed traveling to different continents in the world, and Jacqueline always put her family first. She enjoyed gardening, especially planting beautiful flowers.
Viewing/Visitation 4-6PM and Recitation of the Rosary 6PM on Monday, August 18, 2025 at Drinkwine Family Mortuary, 999 W. Littleton Boulevard, Littleton CO 80120. On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, Funeral Mass at 11AM and a reception to follow at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 8035 S. Quebec Street, Centennial CO 80112. Burial will follow at 2:30PM at Littleton Cemetery.
