James Redson Obituary

James (Jim) Harvey Redson, 86, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away peacefully at his home on May 6th, 2025.

Born January 10th, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, Jim grew up in Park Ridge, where he attended school and developed the values that would guide him throughout his life. He later attended the University of Colorado, a place he held close to his heart and where his love for the Rocky Mountains began to take root.

Jim spent his career primarily in the Chicago printing industry—first as the owner of a printing company and later as a respected printing consultant. He took great pride in his work, his attention to detail, and the relationships he built over the years.

He was a loyal fan of the Denver Broncos, a lover of classic Westerns, and enjoyed following tennis matches and horse racing. But his greatest passion was his Faith. As a devoted member of the Bahá’í Faith, Jim found deep meaning in its teachings and took joy in sharing its message of unity, kindness, and spiritual growth.

Jim is survived by his wife, Betty Anne Redson, and his children from his first marriage: Juli Redson-Smith, Cathy Redson, Jenny Wiebers, and Lisa Cook, along with his son with Betty Anne, Blake Redson. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marie Redson, whose memory remained close to his heart.

“O Son of Spirit!
My first counsel is this: Possess a pure, kindly and radiant heart,
that thine may be a sovereignty ancient, imperishable and everlasting.”
— Bahá’u’lláh
