Jason Curtis Anderson, son of Bette Sellers-Anderson and Curtis Anderson, was born January 9th, 1976. Jason was tragically taken from us in a car accident on August 30th at the age of 45.
Jason was preceded in death by his brother Brian George Anderson on May 9th, 2018. In addition to his parents, Jason is survived by his son, Jonah Troy Anderson, sister Jessica Hultgren, nephew Aspen Teru Hultgren, niece London Olivia Hultgren and multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jason attended Arizona State University where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, while also enjoying being a star member of the football team. Football was one of the loves of Jason’s life and in the fall, you could find him posted on the couch with his brother, closely monitoring their Fantasy Football teams. Go Broncos!
Jason joined the Army and moved through the ranks to 1st Lieutenant. Jason served multiple deployments overseas and served in the medical corp where he was honored with the Meritorious Service Medal, as well as the Combat Medical Badge. Jason forged many bonds with his fellow soldiers and was honored to have served alongside so many brave and loyal Americans and our allies.
Jason’s greatest love was his son, Jonah. Whether they were having a battle royal (where Jonah used his magic and always prevailed) or endlessly combing the aisles at Target to find the perfect toy, Jonah was Jason’s bright light and best friend. Jonah (The Bunny) remains in the loving care of his mother, Jamie Tafoya.
Jason’s service will be this Friday, September 10th, 2021, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, located at 5620 South Hickory Circle, Littleton, Colorado, 80120. The sung High Mass will be at 10:30am, followed by a lunch reception at the Church’s parish hall (on site). Please join us for either or both events. If you are unable to attend services you may join the family via live stream at the following link: https://www.olmcfssp.org/livestream/
Due to a backlog at Fort Logan National Cemetery, a date has not been set for Jason’s burial.
While Jason was on his most recent tour in Kuwait, he planned a trip to take a very excited Jonah to Disney World. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to Jonah’s trip in honor of his Daddy’s wish and last promise to his son.
