It is with great sadness and much love that the family of Jere Maxwell announces his passing on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the age of 93.
Born March 22, 1932, in San Francisco, California, Jere graduated from Sequoia Union High School in 1949. He was an accomplished musician, classically trained on the piano and trombone and played fifth chair in the San Francisco Symphony as an alternate. Jere loved jazz music and played with Dave Brubeck early in his career.
Jere was drafted and joined the Air Force in 1951. He served for four years, including two in Korea, and was honorably discharged as an Airman First Class in 1955.
He graduated from the University of Denver in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and became a CPA. Upon graduation, he went to work for Gary Briber, CPA, later becoming partner. In 1967, Jere joined the Gates Rubber Company, where he had a distinguished career. He became member of the Gates Corporation Board of Directors and was a Group Vice President of Operations when he retired in 1991.
In retirement, Jere continued to utilize his business expertise to serve the community. He volunteered with SCORE helping small businesses get established and set up for success. Jere also served on several boards including Camp Fire Girls, Mercy Hospital, Porter Hospital, and RxPlus.
Jere will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Jackie Maxwell; children David Maxwell (Lonia), Paula Maxwell; stepchildren Jim Mitchell (Eileen), (former daughter-in-law Cyndy Mitchell), Kelli Mitchell (Toni), Rick Mitchell-Wyatt (Mike); grandchildren, Perri, Sarah, Danae (Dan), Cameron (Jillian), Ericka, Hannah (Clint), Grant, Greg; and great-grandchildren Carson, Cody, Cara, Sean, Reagan, and Nora.
He was preceded in death by his father Herbert, mother Lucille, twin sister Betty Vannoy, and his first wife Wanda Maxwell.

Military Honors and Committal Service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, November 7, 2025 at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. Please arrive at staging area "White" no later than 10:15 AM.
A celebration of life will follow the beginning at 11 a.m., at the Holiday Inn, 7390 W. Hampden Ave, Colorado 80227.
