Jerome Romine Obituary

Jerome Allen Romine was born on January 12, 1936, in Rugby, ND to Eugene and Hilma (Ellertson) Romine.  He graduated from Rugby High School in 1954 and shortly after enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Seattle, WA. After his discharge in 1957 he returned to Rugby initially but eventually moved to Minot after he married the love of his life, Sandra Mae Paul on June 3, 1962, at the Rugby Methodist Church.

He started his career at KCJB TV (later KXMC) as a camera man and loved working with his older brother, his mentor/hero, Rod Romine.  He enjoyed his nearly 40 years at the station and made so many lasting relationships along the way.  He ultimately held the position of Television Producer at KXMC and retired from Reiten Broadcasting in 2001.

Jerry was a member of Vincent United Methodist Church in Minot, ND for over 50 years where he was involved with various committees and sang in the choir until he and Sandy moved to Colorado to be close to kids & grandkids in 2012.  Shortly after settling in Colorado, he & Sandy joined Littleton United Methodist Church, and he was promptly recruited to sing with the Chancel Choir where he continued his love of singing until his lungs could no longer support his beautiful tenor voice.  Besides singing, his passion was simply to be with family, to support everyone he loved with encouragement, sharing his faith, laughter and of course stories from his younger years.

He and Sandy were married for 62 years.  He is survived by two children, Darin (Lauri) Romine of Sharps Chapel, TN, and Jenny (Jeff) Robillard, of Littleton, CO.  Four grandchildren:  Dylan Romine, Marli Romine, Benjamin Robillard and Olivia Robillard.  Siblings: Lyla Crowe and Clark (Pam) Romine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings/brother-in-law: Eugene & Hilma Romine, Perry Romine, June (Allie) Gilleshammer, Homer (Doris) Romine, Rod (Gladys) Romine, Ralph Crowe.
