Jewel Potter Cottone

Jewel Potter Cottone, 98, of Littleton CO passed away peacefully March 18, 2025. She was born March 5, 1927 in St. Louis, MO to Duero and Anita Reed. 

Jewel graduated from Blewett High School in 1945 and attended Harris Teachers College where she met her future husband Joe on a blind date in 1946. They were married November 24, 1949.

She was very devoted to her family and friends. She and Joe were avid travelers taking over 20 trips all across Europe and seeing as many of cites as they could. She loved Rome the best and was the focus of many of their trips. She enjoyed traveling all across the US from cost to cost. Jewel was active in a swim group at Buck Center with several of her close friends. 

Survived by daughter, Patricia "Patti" Wells (Roger) of Littleton CO, Son Joseph "Joe" Cottone (Ila) of Osgood IN: three grandchildren: Anthony Cottone of Columbus IN, Jessica Weatherwax (Todd) of Versailles IN, Daniel Fix (Allana) of Osgood IN, Son-in-law, Richard "Rick" Hughes of Kansas City; four grandchildren: Jaala Hughes (Nathan France) of Indianapolis, Asher Hughes (Samantha) of North Kansas City MO, Micael Elrod (Ryan) of Kansas City, KS, and Olivia Hughes of Kansas City, KS; Sixteen beloved great grandchildren Abby, Carter, Charlie, Ellie, Zoe, Lillian, Reed, Coletta, Caleb, Madeline, Piper, Wiley, Evelyn, Jonas, Wolf and Freya; preceded in death by her husband Joseph Cottone and daughter Joanne Hughes.      

A viewing and gathering will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025 at Drinkwine Family Chapel at 1:00 PM.
