JoAnne (Jodie) Russell passed away on November 3, 2022 of complications related to her Alzheimer's. She was born January 17, 1943 in San Angelo, Texas. Her parents Eugene McCrohan and Cornelia Fickling adopted her soon thereafter. Jodie was a ferocious advocate for her children RaeAnne, Kevin, Philip and Thomas.
Jodie began her working career as the secretary for the San Angelo City Attorney and later was the secretary for thirty-three engineers at General Telephone of the Southwest. When the children were born she worked a number of part-time jobs so she could be home when the kids needed her most. She ended her career as a secretary at Arapahoe Community College and finally at Platte River Academy.
A wonderful, loving wife and mother, Jodie loved to go camping, fishing, dancing and traveling. She would meet new people and be lifelong friends immediately. Jodie was a devout Catholic and devoted to her faith. Jodie was preceded in death by her children Thomas and Kevin, her parents and her brother James. Jodie is survived by her husband of 59 years Ray, her daughter RaeAnne and her son Philip.
Funeral Mass will be held on November 18, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assissi Castle Rock with reception/lunch to follow at church.
