Joel Dale Collier
June 7, 1932 Rock Island Illinois May 6, 2024 Littleton Colorado
On a blustery cold May afternoon, Joe Collier, 91, lost his battle with a variety of ailments that had plagued him for the last few years. Joe was a kind and generous man, whose life affected many people for the better. He was a gifted coach, teacher, friend, parent, grandparent and spouse. He will be greatly missed by his partner of 13 years Sue Henry and her daughters and grandchildren. He is survived by his children Julie (Gary) Anderson, Lisa (George) Meskimen, Joel (Shirley) Collier, grandchildren Stephanie (James) Walter, Brandon (Amy) Hommel, Jeremy Collier, Evie Collier and Andrew (Lisa) Anderson. He is also survived by great grandchildren Ella Walter, Daniel Walter, Miles Hommel and Noah Hommel. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley of 49 years in 2006, parents Dale and Ester Collier, sister Mary Wilson, brother Terry Collier and granddaughter Sarah Anderson. The family would like to thank the kind people at Agape Hospice, particularly nurses Victoria, Summer and Katia for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to Friends of Man - www.friendsofman.org, a charity in Littleton, Colorado, or Nourish Meals on Wheels - www.nourishmealsonwheels.org
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
His long amazing life was a gift to us all.
