José Joaquim Gonçalves

José Joaquim Gonçalves, 93, passed away on November 9, 2021, at the end of a brief hospital stay. He was known to many and loved by all: he will be especially remembered for his social graces, his exuberance in engaging life's activities and his many friends, his passion for ballroom dancing, his lifelong interests in hunting, photography and cooking, and his deep and enduring relationships with friends and his immediate and remote family, including a surviving sister and many nieces, nephews ansd cousins in his native Portugal, Mozambique and Mexico. He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Katherine L. Gonçalves, and is survived by his three sons, Ricardo, Mark and Neil, 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at Drinkwine Family Mortuary, 999 W. Littleton Blvd., Littleton, Colorado on Monday, November 29, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Maggiano's Little Italy, 7401 So. Clinton St., Englewood, CO 80112

Due to the current escalation of COVID cases in our area, and the high-risk designation of many of the expected guests, the family respectfully requests guests tightly adhere to established protocols regarding symptoms, contacts, recent infection and recent travel, as well as tightly adhere to current guidance regarding testing, vaccinations, and masking for large indoor gatherings with high-risk attendees.
