Bill was born and raised in Carrollton, Kentucky. He worked on the family's tobacco farm until he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1954. He did his basic training at Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado. This is where he met and married Joyce on May 19, 1955. The couple moved to Spokane, Washington where he was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base. It was there that they were blessed with two children, Christine and Bill. When Bill was discharged in 1963, after 8 years of service, he moved his family to Englewood, Colorado. He was a machinist for Norgrens in Littleton, Colorado until his retirement in 1994.
Bill loved the outdoors, spending time with his family, camping, fishing, and vacations on Rough River in Kentucky. He (and Joyce) were very passionate about bowling. They were always on bowling leagues, making new friendships.
Bill is survived by his wife, Joyce; his children, Christine Still and Bill (Carol) Holloway; grandchildren, Tricia, Sam, Rachael, and Abby; great granddaughter, Saia; brothers, Bob and Tom Winckler; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his parents, Joseph and Margaret Holloway; brother, Jim Holloway; and his sister, Virginia Martin.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 pm, Friday, December 9, 2022 at Drinkwine Family Chapel followed by a committal service with military honors at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at 2:00 pm, staging area "A".
