It is with heavy heart we announce the passing of Judith Divita, 75, of Littleton, Colorado. She peacefully passed away October 30, 2023. Judie is survived by her son Marcus Divita, daughter-in-law Wendy, four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, brother Gordon Hungerink, and sister Marcine Carr.
Judie grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, graduating from North High School in the class of 1966. She was determined to be the first in her family to get a college education. She wanted to study computers, an adventurous career for anyone at that time, let alone a woman.
Her job with the Federal Government transferred her from Washington DC to the Federal Center in Lakewood, Colorado in 1978.
Judie worked tirelessly to prove herself in her job, while also being the sole provider for her and her son. But no matter how hard she worked, she still made time for adventures. She loved camping, skiing, and trips to warm places.
She took advantage of a work opportunity to be employed in Manheim, Germany for 7 years in the 1990’s. She also lived in Dayton, Ohio for a time before returning to the Denver area.
Later in life, Judie enjoyed book clubs with her neighbors, and playing bridge with her friends, but her passion was always to travel. She had many adventures all around the world from Africa to China, visited each of the 50 states, and loved cruises.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday November 22nd at Drinkwine Family Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Warren Village in Judie’s name and memory. https://warrenvillage.org/donate/ Warren Village provides housing and childcare for single moms trying to improve their situation.
