Karen Annalora, 61, of Littleton, Colorado passed away peacefully on December 12th after a long fought battle with early onset dementia.
Karen was born on June 4th, 1962 to Boris and Helen Chernack in Long Island, New York. Their family moved to Colorado when she was ten and Karen made Littleton her home for many years to come. She graduated from Littleton High School and got her Bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado.
Karen was passionate about her career in finance, but even more passionate about being a mother. She could be found travelling across the country to chaperone her daughters' lacrosse teams, or volunteering for one their many school events. No doubt she was always the loudest on the sidelines and if you ever went to a Heritage/Arapahoe lacrosse game you'd probably hear a few choice words fly from her mouth. But, that is the gusto that Karen brought to life and her role as a mother.
Her and her friends spent many memorable days together playing rounds of golf at Columbine Country Club, partaking in late night bunko matches, and competing in local bowling leagues. Karen proudly presented her 300 game bowling pin in her home to showcase her skills.
Karen was lucky enough to have had two loves in her life, her first with her highschool sweetheart Thomas Stegman. They had two children, Olivia and Hannah. After Tom had passed when the girls were young, she met Matthew Annalora, who she loved until his passing in 2020. Karen, Matt, and the girls had many wonderful memories together, including ski trips to Beaver Creek, and many trips to Mexico. As a family they loved to travel together and experience new things.
Karen Annalora is survived by her daughters Olivia (Kyle) Young and Hannah (Nathan) Sauerhagen. Her grandchildren Murphy and Tripp Young. And her siblings, Susan (Kim) May, Stephen (Debbie) Chernack and Paula (Mark) Schmidt.
