Obituary

Kathleen Joy Casburn, 85 of Littleton, Colorado, passed away on May 28, 2022, in Pensacola, Florida. 

Kathleen was born September 15th, 1936, in Custer, South Dakota to Ralph and Nellie Johnson.   she had five older brothers and one sister. She is survived by her 6 children, Peggy, Rick, Rose-Mary, Ward, Mike and Patty, 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandkids, and another one due in July. 

After graduating from high school in Hot Springs, South Dakota, Kathleen moved to Denver, Colorado, and attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing where she graduated in 1957 and began her career as a nurse. This is where she met her husband Richard Casburn while she was treating her future mother-in-law who had breast cancer. 

Kathleen and Richard married on October 10, 1959 in Leadville, CO and began their life together in Denver and then moved to Littleton where they lived for the next 40 years.  

In 2020 Kathleen went to Florida for a visit and decided to make it her retirement home.  She was able to get in some beach days and make a lot of new friends.  She will always be remembered for her smile and her hospital scrub jackets.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday - June 10, 2022 at 12:30 PM with Prayer Service to follow at 1:00 PM at Drinkwine Family Chapel. Burial will follow at Littleton Cemetery.
