Kayah Dunemn was born on July 21st, 1998, in Aurora, Colorado. She moved with her family to Parker in 2001 and spent her childhood there. Kayah graduated from Legend Highschool in 2016. Kayah moved in 2016 to Littleton, Colorado, with her mom and attended Arapahoe Community College. She started living as her true self in 2017. Recently, Kayah had relocated to Colorado Springs and worked as a budtender. She passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 10th, 2020, at home.
Kayah was loving and caring; she always tried to help where she could. She was shy but bold when needed. She loved to make everyone laugh. Kayah was witty and would always have a great comeback. Kayah was a well-loved member of the online trans community and helped many. Kayah loved animals and online games.
Kayah is survived by her brother Mitchell Barrett, Mother Wendy Barret, and father Evan Barrett. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation and viewing will be held Monday, August 17, 2020, 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 4:00 PM, both at Drinkwine Family Mortuary.
Per Colorado State Health Department.... Funerals and memorial services are authorized at 50% capacity not to exceed 50 people indoors, with strict compliance of Social Distancing Requirements for employees and any attendees of services. Individuals must maintain 6 feet distance between non-household members.
