It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kelley Jean Farr, age 58. She graduated from life in this broken world into life in eternal glory on May 20, 2025, in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, after a long battle with breast cancer. Along with the sadness, there's also joy that Kelley is free from pain and it in the arms of Jesus. And we will all see her again.
Kelley was born on April 4, 1967, in Denver to Patrick and Lenora Collins. She grew up in Frederick, Colorado, with her sisters Shelley, Stacey and Cathy. She married Mike Farr in 1996, building a life centered on faith, love, and family.
She was a stay at home mom, always providing amazing home cooked meals, a fun and loving environment, and was tirelessly patient. She was there for every game, play, performance or event. She fostered an environment of lighthearted creativity. Most importantly to her, she never missed an opportunity to instruct her children about the kingdom of God, the scriptures and the ways of love.
Kelley lived her life virtually free from bitterness and anger. She never complained, even as her illness progressed. She was a faithful person in every way. She was endlessly joyous, hopeful, gentle and lovely.
Kelley lived her life so fully that most people didn’t even realize she had cancer until the end. She lived boldly, traveled to Hawaii and Cancun, and even completed her first year at Karis Bible College. Many have said that the enduring hope, joy, and peace she had through her whole journey greatly inspired and impacted them.
Her time as a grandmother was short, but she delighted in every moment. Kelley was not known to exaggerate, and she has said that participating in the birth of Jubilee was the greatest moment of her life.
Kelley is survived by her husband, Mike Farr; her children, Asher Farr, Eden Henry (Grant) , and Cainan Farr, and her granddaughter, Jubilee Henry; her father Patrick Collins, sisters Shelley Collins, Stacey Landwehr (Wayne) and Cathy Collins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lenora Collins.
A celebration of Kelley’s life will be held on Saturday, May 31, at beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Bridgeway Church, 5201 E Warren Ave, Denver, CO 80222. Dress is business-casual. Feel free to wear bright, vibrant colors in honor of Kelley. All who loved Kelley are welcome to attend.
A formal reception at the church will follow immediately, with refreshments provided.
Following the reception, there will be a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial , CO 80121. All are welcome to attend.
Following the graveside service, around 2:00 p.m, there will be “farewell fiesta” at the home of Julie and Phil Maher, 9519 Kemper Drive, Lone Tree, CO 80124. Mexican food and drink provided. Feel free to wear summer clothes as it will be an indoor/outdoor event. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Medi-Share. Through Kelley’s journey they were so gracious, covering major medical costs and even giving us 6 months of no payment towards them. We’d love to give back for the many other families who are dependent on them for their medical costs, and as a thank you for their generosity.
