Kent Joseph Nicholas

Kent Joseph Nicholas was born April 4, 1962, at Porter Hospital in Denver, CO, to Sondra “Sonie” Ellis and Edward James “Jim” Nicholas.  Kent departed from this life suddenly on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at age 60 in Englewood, CO, where he resided during his adult life.

He completed school through the 12th grade, graduating from Little High School, Littleton, CO.  He played in the band briefly.  Kent became an active member of the Englewood Eagles Lodge FOE #3241, and attended St. George's Episcopal Church in Englewood until the church was moved.

Kent will be remembered for his love of people and animals.  At one time, he and his parents shared their house with a dog, two cats, a gerbil, a guinea pig and a turtle named Banana Binkle.

Survivors include his mother, Sonie Sidman, of the home; stepsisters, Alleson Basilico (Tom and their daughter Loren) of Littleton; Marsha Petrovik (John) of Timnath, CO; Debbie Burton (Terry) of Broken Arrow, OK; and Donna Collins of Rogers, AR; cousins, Patty Nicholas, Cindy Nicholas and Kathy Nicholas, all of Kansas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; his brother, Edward “Eddie” James Nicholas, Jr.; his stepfathers, Fred Smithers and Maynard “Sid” Sidman; and grandmother, Nadine Merle Halbeck Ellis Sidman.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Drinkwine Family Mortuary, 999 West Littleton Boulevard in Littleton, CO, with Pastor Barbara Lemke officiating.
