Kyra Alyssa Peck

It is with great sadness that we are sharing the passing of our baby girl.  Kyra was born on October 25th, 2003 and left this world far too soon on September 6th, 2024.

Kyra graduated from Rock Canyon High School in 2022 where she excelled in school and played volleyball at the varsity level. Most recently she was a junior at the University of Colorado Boulder studying Speech and Hearing Sciences and loved being a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

Kyra is survived by her Dad (Tony), Mom (Shari), Brother (Aidan) as well as her grandparents, aunts, uncles and many cousins and 2nd cousins in the United States and England.

Kyra was born in Scottsdale, Arizona where she attended preschool and 1st grade.  She moved to San Jose, California when she was eight years old and attended Graystone Elementary school and Bret Harte Middle school.  This was where Kyra started competitive swimming and made so many new friends at school and on the swim teams.  After five years in California, Kyra moved to Colorado where she attended Rocky Heights Middle School and Rock Canyon High School.  

Kyra absolutely loved school, playing high school and club volleyball and developing so many more new friendships. Kyra was always there for her friends and classmates and lit up the world with her warm smile, wonderful sense of humor and caring heart. After high school Kyra headed off to Boulder where she quickly settled into college, making the most of every moment and living life to the fullest.

Kyra was so involved at CU, playing club volleyball as well as being very active in her sorority.  To know Kyra was to love Kyra.  She had an amazing talent to connect with young children, not only did she love babies but they absolutely adored her.  During the summer and winter breaks she worked at Primrose Daycare in Castle Rock where she just loved going to work and playing with the kids every day.   

We are absolutely heartbroken with the loss of our beautiful Kyra but know she is with her Grandpa in Heaven and will watch over us all.

A Candlelight Vigil will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 7:15PM at Chautauqua Park, 900 Baseline Road & 9th Street, Boulder, CO 80302.  

Memorial Service to be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at The Dixon Chapel at Cherry Hills Community Church, 3908 Grace Boulevard, Highlands Ranch, CO. A brief reception will follow with light refreshments in the reception hall at The Dixon Chapel.
