Leland Hansen Obituary

Leeland "Lee" Ray Hansen (1945 – 2026)

Leeland Ray Hansen, a dedicated veteran, educator, and master craftsman, passed away in Parker, Colorado. Born in Denver on June 19, 1945, to George and Lottie Hanson, Lee was a man of impressive stature—standing 6’3” with striking blue eyes—and even greater artistic vision.

Service and Education
Lee served his country with honor in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge in 1971, he pursued his passion for the arts at the University of Northern Colorado, where he earned both his Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts degrees.

Life’s Work
An influential figure in the art community, Lee shared his knowledge as a college professor of artwork. His professional journey eventually led him to establish his own sculpture foundry, where his technical mastery of bronze and form became his legacy. For the last three decades, Lee was the primary producer of sculpture for the renowned artist Gib Singleton, bringing acclaimed western and spiritual works to life through his expert casting and finishing.

Personal Life
Lee is remembered by those in the art world for his craftsmanship, his imposing yet gentle presence, and his unwavering dedication to his family and his craft.

In accordance with Lee’s wishes, his friends will hold a memorial service in the Spring of 2026. This gathering will be a time to share stories, honor his legacy, and spread his ashes in a place that held great meaning to him.

As the season turns and new life begins to bloom, we find it a fitting time to celebrate the vibrant life Lee led.
