Linda was the daughter of Lois and Wallace Ryder Sr., residing on Park St., in Jamestown, NY.   She was confirmed at First Covenant Church in 1963 and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1966.  In 1969 she married Gregory Olson, her husband of 53 years at the Naval Chapel on the Pacific Island of Guam. They first lived in Agat, then Agana Guam until they returned to Jamestown in 1970.  Linda worked at Chautauqua Abstract in Mayville, NY from 1970 until 1973, when she started her family of four children.  She attended Jamestown Community College, where she studied calligraphy and other subjects. In 1981, she moved to Big Flats, NY, where she worked in real estate, and in 1985 she started her own calligraphy business.   She moved to Highlands Ranch, Colorado in 2005, and retired in 2008; but continued her calligraphy business until May of 2021.

Linda enjoyed traveling and visited most of the United States as well as Canada & Mexico.  She has designed and created many beautiful and unique calligraphy works of art.  She volunteered her time, teaching and sharing her talent with school children.   Linda never missed an opportunity to participate in any of her families’ special events from dancing to football. She enjoyed cooking & baking for her extended families and thoughtfully decorating her home at every change of seasons.
