Linda McGuire Wells, daughter of Velma and Murvail ‘Curly’ McGuire, was born in South Dakota on July 20th, 1945. She was raised in Cadillac Michigan, along with her older brother and sister, where her parents ran their family business, McGuire’s Resort. Linda worked at her family’s resort from an early age, where she learned the values of hard work and discipline—principles she carried throughout her life. She attended Michigan State University before moving to Colorado to pursue her passion for the outdoors and skiing.
In 1977, Linda married Dr. G. Gray Wells. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two sons, Chris and Zach. Linda was an extraordinary wife, mother, skier, and tennis player. She was deeply involved in the Denver community, and was beloved by many for her warmth, strength, and grace.
In 2022, Linda was diagnosed with Primary Lateral Sclerosis (PLS). Following a courageous and prolonged battle with PLS, and after the loss of her beloved husband, Linda passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family. Linda is survived by her brother Jim, her sister Corinne, her sons Chris and Zach, and her four cherished grandchildren: Cora, Gray, Vivienne, and George. Linda was a woman of remarkable strength, unwavering love, and enduring spirit—she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
