On Monday July 29, 2019, Loren Scott, 72, loving husband and father of five children passed away.
Loren was born on July 21, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa to Vernon and Vivian Scott of Chariton, Iowa. He received his accounting degree from Drake University in 1969 and practiced in the oil and gas industry for 48 years, the last 32 years at Philip T. Sharples Trust. On February 14, 1965 he married his childhood sweetheart Sharon Reynolds of Chariton, Iowa. They raised two sons, Clarke and Darren and three daughters, Sally, Heather and Sung Ja.
Loren had many hobbies that he loved. Some of his favorite times were spent hiking with his friends and family, playing cribbage, and seeing his grandchildren in all their various activities and sports. He was also a World Class Champion in horseshoe pitching. In addition Loren was known for his razor sharp wit and his infectious sense of humor. His love of silliness and lighthearted humor could be seen in the traveling cribbage crown that went to the winner of the weekly matches with his neighbor. He liked being called “King!” He was a kind and compassionate man who loved people and animals alike including his beloved dogs Harley and Dixie.
Loren is survived by his wife Sharon, his children Clarke and Debby Scott, Darren Scott and Kasha Van Sant, Sally and Kevin Boggs, Heather and Dusty Robinson, and Sung Ja and Josh Albright. He leaves behind his grandchildren Matthew and Joshua Scott, Tyler and Bryce Boggs, Shelby and Blakely Robinson, Dylan, Cayden and Payton Albright, as well as brothers Craig Scott, Doyle Scott and sister Linda Fatland. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday August 3, 2019 at Mission Hills Church, 620 Southpark Dr, Littleton, CO 80120.
