Lucas A. Burris

We are heartbroken to share that on Saturday, June 1, 2024, Lucas A. Burris passed away early in the morning at his home from illness and left us too soon at age 40. Lucas was born on December 31, 1983, in Englewood Colorado, to his father Alan L Burris and mother Julie M Anderson (aka Julie M Popovich).

Luke poured his heart and soul into his family and his car detailing business, building a successful life from the ground up, while at the same time being an exceptional single parent caring and providing for his three children. In his spare time, he loved nothing more than being in the mountains—riding dirt bikes, ATV’ing, fishing, and spending precious time with his kids. Luke was their rock, their sole provider. He was always the life of the crowd and tried hard to focus on positive and bright things in life.

Lucas is survived by his three beloved children -- Emily Wood-Burris, Ethan Wood-Burris, and Evan Wood- Burris. He also leaves behind his father Alan Burris, Julie Burris his stepmother, two loving sisters Angela Burris and Shelby Burris, and many beloved aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and many friends. Lucas was preceded in death by his mother Julie M Popovich, and four loving grandparents.

We will miss him immensely, and we are fortunate to never forget treasured memories of Lucas. Rest in peace our Angel.

A memorial service for Lucas will be held on the 28th of September 2024, at 11:00 am at Drinkwine Mortuary, 999 West Littleton Boulevard, Littleton, CO, 80120, Tel: 1-303-794-6376.

We are hoping to raise funds, versus flowers etc., to help Ethan, Evan, and Emily get back on their feet and secure the future their father worked so hard to give them. These incredible kids deserve the chance to build the lives their dad dreamed of for them.
