Lucille was born in Denver on April 17, 1925 to Fred and Anna Rosa Fiore. She grew up on the family farm in the Globeville section of North Denver at the current intersection of I-25 and I-70 ("the Mousetrap"). She attended Denver Public Schools and graduated from Denver North High School.
She married Frank Clapp, a World War II Air Force pilot, in Denver in 1946, a union which would last nearly 72 years until Frank's passing almost exactly two years prior to the day of Lucille's. She assisted Frank in his terrazzo business and real estate ventures. As a member of the Greatest Generation, Lucille experienced many historic events such as the Dust Bowl, Great Depression, and World War II which made her strong in character and conviction.
Lucille was very dedicated to her family and faith and at the same time a very social person who made friends everywhere she went. She especially enjoyed being with family and friends and participating in camping, fishing, and exploring the outdoors. One of her favorite activities was hosting parties and cookouts at her family's farm in Douglas County. She was an especially hard worker and was very proud of her annual flower and vegetable garden.
She is survived by her son and many other relatives. Due to the corona virus pandemic, no services were held and private entombment took place April 8, 2020, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date when appropriate.
