Mabel Margaret Reichert

Mabel Krank Reichert Degenhardt, 98 yrs & still dancing & always joking.
Born in Savanna, OK in l926 - lived thru the Great Depression in a log cabin in Eldon OK near Tahlequah, OK & a creek to hand carry water to the cabin.
Her 'daddy', she still called him, cause he died of cancer when she was only l9 yrs, worked in the coal mines. He was also a street corner preacher- Peacher Krank he was called & she says when 6yrs old, she would go with him & sing & pass the hat. 
The 4th child of eleven children, she was always a helper to her mother, who had a set of twins & 2 yrs later a set of triplets. Mabel said when she was 8yrs old she was hand washing diapers for 5 babies.
Mabel raised 5 children of her own- much of the time by herself- prayed for them everyday & worked hard to assure they always had food & a home.
She loved children &

In the 70's she bought  THE LOG CABIN restaurant in the mountains- Frisco, CO. She loved to feed people, was a great cook & ran it with her teenage son BUD.
Mabel's grandparents thru her mother was a cherokee man & Irish wife. Sooo - she was strong, independent, hard working and lived alone until age 95, in the home she had designed, helped build & raised her 5 children in.
Mabel has graduated Cum Laude, with a Masters Degree, PhD, Eminence from the lessons of life on this school of earth.
