Marilyn B. Hoffman, 64, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, in Littleton, Colo. She was born in Denver on August 19, 1960, to Clyde and Catherine (Kay) Hoffman. As the youngest of four daughters, Marilyn grew up as the "baby sister." Marilyn lived most of her life in Littleton, except for two years with her family in Ralston, Neb., at ages 4 and 5. She attended St. Mary’s Elementary School, Euclid Junior High, and Littleton High School, graduating in 1978.
Marilyn was employed full-time at the Littleton Public School District for 23 years, until her retirement in 2016. Following retirement, she worked as a substitute support-staff member at LPSD.
She volunteered for several years in the Therapeutic Recreational Department at Craig Rehabilitation Hospital where she was previously an inpatient during the summer of 1994, while recovering from a head injury after a motorcycle accident. Marilyn had a special love for animals, so she also volunteered at the Colorado Humane Society.
She enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing and camping. She frequently attended music concerts with a special love for those held at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater. Marilyn also hosted several July 4th parties for families and friends, topping off the evening by watching fireworks at nearby Cornerstone Park.
Marilyn excelled at darts and billiards, taking on pool opponents with her own special cue. She spent many hours playing cribbage—a game she thoroughly enjoyed. She especially enjoyed making Christmas cookie trays and ample batches of her superlative Chex mix for the holidays for family and friends.
As for travel, she had a special fondness for Key West, Fla., where she vacationed with her sister Marietta in 2008. Traveling to see out-of-state friends and family was important to her. A few weeks before her death, she and Marietta enjoyed a memorable, fun visit to Omaha to visit their sister, Pat, and her partner Dean.
Marilyn’s passing has left a huge void in our lives. She was more than just a sister; she was a source of joy and laughter for so many and was always there to help family and friends in need.
Marilyn is survived by two sisters, Marietta (Steve) Klodt and Pat Mauro, as well as her nephew John (Amy) Falconetti and two great nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and oldest sister (Priscilla).
A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Drinkwine Family Chapel. A reception will immediately follow at Drinkwine.
In celebration of Marilyn’s life, the family asks that you please wear bright and uplifting colors to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marilyn’s memory may be made to Craig Hospital (Englewood, Colo.) or to the Colorado Humane Society.
