MaryAnn Fast, 85, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away on February 26, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
MaryAnn Ratzlaff was born December 19, 1938, in a farmhouse northeast of Marion, SD. She was the daughter of Paul and Bertha Ratzlaff. A few years later the family moved into the town of Marion, a block and half southeast of the high school, where she attended her grade school and high school years. She became interested in music, singing in high school choir groups and performed solos. She graduated in 1957. She grew up in a Christian family, going to church, and she gave her heart to Jesus in a Church of God Bible camp at Brookings South Dakota by answering an invitation from Jesus. Later she was baptized in the Marion Lake, which is at the west end of Marion.
MaryAnn and her sisters sang at Silver Lake Mennonite Church on Highway 81. This is where Gilbert Fast met MaryAnn. They were married on March 14 th, 1958, which was the first wedding at the new church. From this marriage came four children Brenda, Fonda Fey (who is waiting for us in heaven), Bryan, and Terry. There are nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Gil and MaryAnn spent the majority of their lives in Littleton Colorado, raising their children and working their businesses.
Due to her high school years, she was very interested in music and singing solos. She treasured getting together with her sisters, who would sing as a quartet. She was dedicated to the church and volunteered many hours, which included singing and helping in the choir, singing solos, and food service within this community. She also loved and enjoyed hosting family dinners, especially during the holiday season.
Funeral services to be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Drinkwine Family Chapel with burial to follow at Littleton Cemetery.
