Maxine A. Fulton (nee Morris). August 1934 – January 2026. Born in Hot Springs, S. Dak. and grew up in Custer, S. Dak. She is survived by her children Cindy Fulton (Rick Crenshaw), Lori Fulton, Curtis Fulton (Cory) and Kent Fulton (Shar); 6 grandchildren and their spouses.
Maxine was a 1953 graduate of Colorado Women’s College and a 1956 graduate of the University of Wyoming where she earned a degree in business and met and married the love of her life, Allan.
Maxine described her marriage as the start of an adventure – not knowing where her life with Allan would take them. It took them all around the country; from Wyoming, to Illinois, to Oregon, to Utah, to Washington, to Colorado, to Maryland, and finally back to Colorado, where they lived a long happy life together in retirement. Her sense of “life is an adventure to be enjoyed” was the glue that held her family together through every move and every life event.
Before retiring, Maxine went back to school and became a floral arranger for several flower shops in Denver. During her “retirement”, Maxine volunteered at Wellshire Presbyterian Church, Assistance League, and with the American Needlepoint Guild.
Maxine’s special joy came from her needlepoint hobby. She loved the colors and feel of threads and needle in her hands and saved time to stitch nearly every day. Her stitching won ribbons at the Colorado State Fair and in regional and nationally judged exhibitions. She stitched the Colorado contribution for the White House Christmas tree exhibition in 1996.
She is missed in ways that cannot be expressed.
We will Celebrate her Life January 30, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Wellshire Presbyterian Church, 2999 S. Colorado Blvd., Denver, Co. 80222.
Memorial gifts can be made to the University of Wyoming Foundation, 1000 E. University Ave., Laramie, Wyo. 82072, Wellshire Presbyterian Church or the American Indian College Fund, 8333 Greenwood Blvd., Denver, Co. 80221.
