Michael Eugene Hunter

Michael Eugene Hunter, 38, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away on December 7, 2023. Born on August 10, 1985, in Aurora, Colorado, Mike was a self-motivated and hard-working individual who was careful and detail-oriented. He was known for his kind and fun-loving personality, making him a sociable person who loved his family and friends. Mike had a passion for nature, particularly the desert, lakes, and boating.

In his early career, Mike worked as a clerk at Party City and a cashier at K-mart. He later became a Ramp Agent for America West Airlines at Denver International Airport. In 2005, Mike pursued his dream of aviation and moved to Arizona to attend flight school at Regional Airline Academy. He earned his Private Pilot License and Commercial Pilot License, eventually becoming a Commercial Flight Instructor for Sabena Airlines. Mike had the opportunity to teach students from various countries, including India, Belgium, and the Netherlands. He also worked for Honeywell Aerospace in Seattle before being transferred back to Phoenix, Arizona. For several years, he worked for AeroData as an Aviation Specialist, focusing on flight planning and software design. In February 2023, Mike returned to Colorado.

Outside of his career, Mike had a wide range of hobbies and interests. He enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing, hiking, and hosting backyard BBQ and pool parties. He had a love for travel and riding roller coasters, always seeking new adventures to share with his loved ones.

Mike is survived by his father Bill, mother Kathy, brothers David and Matt, niece Violet, nephew William, and grandmother Marge Weller. He was preceded in death by his grandfather William E. Weller, grandfather William F. Hunter, grandmother Dorothy M. Hunter, and step-grandmother Tane Hunter. Mike also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends who will cherish his memory.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Drinkwine Family Mortuary located at 999 W Littleton Blvd, Littleton, CO 80120.
